Canvas leverages technologies like Google Docs to allow multiple users to work together on the same document at the same time. Collaborative documents are saved in real-time, meaning a change made by any of its users will be immediately visible to everyone.

The Dashboard is the first page you see when you log into Canvas. The Dashboard provides a global view of all of the courses you have in Canvas.

The Global Navigation consists of tabs that will direct users to menus or pages displaying specific information about the courses you are taking.

The Global Stream contains a stream of recent activity from all of your courses. The Recent Activity stream helps users to stay on top of what is going on in the course and allows them to easily ask questions and post to discussion forums.
